Bergenfield Incumbents Prepare To Be Sworn To New Terms

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- Bergenfield Mayor and Council will hold its annual reorganization meetings in Borough Hall on Friday, Jan. 1.

Mayor Norman Schmelz and Councilmen Hernando Rivera and Thomas Lodato will be sworn in to new terms of office Friday, Jan. 1 at noon. Mayor Schmelz is pictured here.

The 11 a.m. “sine die” meeting — close of business from the prior year — will be in the second floor Council Chambers.

Mayor Norman Schmelz will take the oath of office for a new 4-year term, and Councilmen Hernando Rivera and Thomas Lodato will be sworn in for new 3-year terms.

All officials will be sworn at the noon meeting, following their re-elections in the November general election.
